My 11 year old son has struggled with ADHD for most of his short life. In just over two months working with Dr. Shari and her amazing staff at Agoura Neurofeedback, we’ve seen dramatic improvement in his overall attention span. He now sits and reads novels (rather than comic strips), and we’ve reduced his medication by 66% (soon to be 100%)! You owe it to yourself to find out more about this amazing approach. We’re very happy we did! Dr. Shari is the best!!!
I just want to say how impressed I am with the results of the neurofeedback treatments I received under the care of Dr. Shari Corbitt at Agoura Neurofeedback.
I have suffered from lifelong depression which, after an extensive consultation, Dr. Corbitt re-diagnosed as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. The neurofeedback treatments were easy and in 4 months completely reversed all symptoms. I am no longer on any medication and things are so different for me now, that I feel like I am living in someone else’s life. I feel like a completely different person and I’ve never been happier. I would highly recommend Dr. Corbitt and her neurofeedback program for anyone suffering from depression or PTSD.
Here is a little something that I put together for Dr. Corbitt because I feel that people who need help or know someone who needs help, should be directed to a solution. Without hesitation I would direct them to Dr. Shari Corbitt.
Managing a luxury sober living in Malibu, California, for more than three years brought me into contact with many different kinds of treatment specialists with varying skill levels. Dr. Shari Corbitt stood out amongst a crowded field of psychiatrists, psychologists and therapists. First, Dr. Corbitt has the unique gift of being a good listener. She is focused, compassionate and knowledgeable. The dialogue she develops with her clients is meaningful and substantive. Second, Dr. Corbitt works with her clients to set clear goals so that progress may be assessed and lends an orientation that grounds the therapeutic relationship. Third, Dr. Corbitt’s clinical knowledge is thoroughly developed and profound. Dr. Corbitt uses her natural gifts and the gifts she has acquired through rigorous training to make a difference in her clients’ lives. I had the opportunity to spend a great deal of time around people that Dr. Corbitt has worked with, and I could see a difference in their lives. Working with Dr. Corbitt’s peers also revealed to me that she is also highly respected by the other professionals who have worked alongside her.
I have worked with many people in the field of alcohol, drug and co-occurring disorders. Shari Corbitt is one of the most gifted clinicians in the world. I started working with her in 2008. She has helped me see that there is more to helping people than what treatment modalities are designed for. What I mean by this is that Shari is equally open to spiritual ideas as well as medical necessity.
When I first worked with her at Touchstone Treatment Center in 2009, it was very clear to me that she had a professional outlook and wanted to make a difference in the environment she worked in. She revamped our approach and made it more of a team atmosphere. She helped bring neurofeedback ( the technique of showing the brain its own activity so it can learn how to change itself ) and integrated it into a 12-Step-based treatment center. She has helped bring neurofeedback to the forefront of major treatment centers and it is helping countless people in ways that never have been done. She definitely isn’t afraid of taking chances to benefit the well being of people in need of help.
For me personally, if it wasn’t for her willingness to take a chance with neurofeedback I would still be dealing with night sweats, daily headaches, daily indigestion, chronic fatigue, severe allergies and severe depression, just to name a few. So thank you, Shari!
I’ve worked with Dr. Shari Corbitt over the last several years in a variety of ways. We’ve consulted about clients, treatment programs and clinical modalities. She’s smart, funny, warm and generous. I find myself pleasantly surprised by her range of knowledge again and again. She’s so down to earth I forget how much she knows and how super smart she is. She also seems to know everyone and is great about facilitating connections. She’s such a caring person too. She’s made a difference in my life and in the lives of so many people.
